The three-room-apartment is on two floors, one flight up from the street. This is one reason for its name. Staircase in Italian means Scala. Another reason is that the grandparents of Panicale's opera singer once lived here. If you're lucky, he may be singing during your stay in one of the churches or in the theatre in Panicale.
On the first floor you will find a living room with a fireplace and a balcony. The couch in the living room can also be used as a supplementary bed.
At the other end of the room there is a big dining table and a modern kitchen with fridge and washing-machine.
On the upper floor there are two bedrooms and a toilet with shower. The master bedroom with its queen size bed has a wonderful view on endless olive groves. The smaller bedroom has two single beds. The apartment was built during the 13th century.
